40s, Female
I have been having liquid diarrhea for 7 days at least 3 times a day. Today I felt off-balance, dizzy, weak, and tired. Last night I had a lot of liquid stool when I went to the bathroom and afterwards I had a pain in my mid to lower abdomen that lasted maybe 30 seconds or so then went away. This was the first time having that pain during the duration of my diarrhea. I felt very dizzy and my eyesight was starting to go. I felt like I was going to pass out. What are the possible conditions based on my symptoms?
I'm concerned about your symptoms, especially given their duration and the recent episode of dizziness and near-fainting. Your situation requires prompt medical attention. Based on your description, some possible conditions could include:
The dizziness, weakness, and near-fainting episode you experienced are particularly worrying as they could indicate severe dehydration or electrolyte imbalance, which can be life-threatening if left untreated.
I strongly recommend seeking immediate medical care, either at an urgent care center or emergency room. You need a proper evaluation, likely including blood tests and possibly stool tests.
In the meantime, try to stay hydrated with water and electrolyte solutions. Avoid dairy products, caffeine, and alcohol.
Remember, prolonged diarrhea and symptoms of dehydration are serious. Please don't delay in getting medical attention. Your health and safety are paramount. Take care, and I hope you get the care you need soon.
We would love to help them too.
