This month I've had two periods, which has never happened before. The second one lasted only 2 days with light and variable bleeding. My boyfriend complains that I’m moody now and sometimes I feel nauseous and this is the second time I’ve had a headache. Am I pregnant?
I understand you're experiencing changes in your menstrual cycle and some new symptoms, which can certainly be concerning. As a family physician, I often discuss these issues with patients, and I can see why you're wondering about pregnancy.
While I can't diagnose you online, I can provide some general information. Irregular periods, including having two periods in a month or shorter cycles, can be caused by various factors such as stress, hormonal changes, or certain medical conditions. Pregnancy can also cause bleeding that might be mistaken for a period, along with symptoms like moodiness, nausea, and headaches.
However, these symptoms can also be related to other conditions or simply hormonal fluctuations. The only way to know for sure if you're pregnant is to take a pregnancy test.
I recommend seeing your primary care doctor or gynecologist soon. They can perform a pregnancy test, evaluate your symptoms, and check for other potential causes of your menstrual changes.
In the meantime, if you think you might be pregnant, consider taking a home pregnancy test. If you experience severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, or other concerning symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
Remember, your doctor is there to help you understand your body and address your health concerns. Don't hesitate to reach out for professional guidance. Take care!
We would love to help them too.
