Dale Mueller, MD

Dr Mueller, MD is a member of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates, P.A., in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to moving to Jacksonville, he practiced at the University of Illinois and OSF St. Francis Medical Center for his entire 20 year career where he was Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Surgery. He initiated the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Program (TAVR), the OSF Thoracic Center of Excellence and the Vascular Institute at the third largest hospital in Illinois. He was also an associate professor at the University of Illinois and received the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) platinum award (highest level) for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in 2017.

Dr. Mueller attended medical school at Loyola University in Chicago. His training included a surgery residency at Loyola University and cardiothoracic and vascular surgery residency at Rush Medical Center in Chicago. His areas of expertise in adult cardiac surgery include bypass surgery, valve surgery, aneurysms, dissections, rhythm abnormalities, and carotid surgery. Areas of specialization in thoracic surgery include lung surgery, esophageal and mediastinal surgery, tracheal surgery, pectus abnormalities, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, and chest tumors. Dr. Mueller also serves as principal investigator in clinical trials and is an editor and writer for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery publications and websites.
