My right eye feels dry and is watery and blurry. I believe it started last night. Should I see a doctor or wait? If I should see a doctor, what type?
I understand your concern about your right eye. Eye discomfort can be frustrating and worrying. As a family physician, I often see patients with similar symptoms.
While I can't diagnose or treat you online, I can provide some general information. Dry, watery, and blurry eyes can be caused by various factors, including allergies, infections, or environmental irritants. Sometimes, these symptoms resolve on their own within a day or two.
However, eye problems can be serious, so it's best not to wait if symptoms persist or worsen. I recommend seeing your primary care doctor or an eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmologist) within the next day or two if your symptoms don't improve. They can examine your eye closely and determine the cause.
In the meantime, you might find relief by using artificial tears, avoiding rubbing your eye, and taking breaks from screen time. If you experience severe pain, vision loss, or other concerning symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
Remember, your eye health is important, and it's always better to err on the side of caution. Take care!
We would love to help them too.
