What is acute cholangitis?

Inflammation of the bile ducts near the liver. It can be caused by stones or tumors blocking the liver's drainage system. This frequently results in a serious infection. Prompt medical treatment is essential as it can be life-threatening.

Symptoms of acute cholangitis

  • Abdominal pain that worsens after meals

  • Fever

  • Right upper abdominal pain

  • Abdominal pain

  • Stomach pain or tummy ache in a specific place

  • Fatigue

  • Pain when pressing down on the abdomen

  • Upper central abdominal pain
