What is Morton's Neuroma?
Morton's neuroma is a painful condition affecting the ball of your foot, between the third and fourth toes. It results from swollen and inflamed nerves leading to your foot's toes. It is often caused by shoes that are too tight or have high heels, which can compress and irritate the nerves in your foot.
Typical Symptoms of Morton's Neuroma
- Numbness or tingling in my toes
- Toe pain
- Tingling or pricking numbness in the legs even when keeping still
- Pain when exerting physically e.g. climbing the stairs
- Difficulty walking normally
- Pain in the sole of your foot
- Tingling or prickling sensation of the skin
- Decreased sensation over skin

Treatment of Morton's Neuroma
Custom-made insoles can help reduce pressure on the affected part of your foot. Your doctor might also prescribe anti-inflammatory oral medications and injections to alleviate pain. In severe cases, foot surgery may be recommended.
