Masculinisation is the unusual development of male traits. This includes male pattern body hair (on the face, chest, back) and deepening of the voice.

This condition is caused by excessive amounts of a hormone called cortisol. It may be caused by consumption of some steroid medications or the body producing too much cortisol.
