What is Depression?

Persistent Depressive Disorder, sometimes called dysthymia, is a long-term (chronic) type of depression that doesn't have long breaks in between episodes of feeling down. It may cause loss of interest in everyday activities, feelings of hopelessness, low productivity, and low self-esteem, as well as an overall sense of inadequacy.

Typical Symptoms of Depression

  • Having suicidal thoughts

  • History of using narcotics or illegal drugs

  • Trembling of fingers or whole body

  • Decrease in ambition and motivation

  • Stressed over daily life

  • Fears that are sometimes irrational or illogical

  • Concentration is getting worse

Treatmentof Depression
