Venous embolism is a condition in which a blood clot forms in the deep veins. Most often occurs in the deep veins of the leg, groin or arm and travels to the lungs (known as pulmonary embolism). Causes of venous thrombosis Spinal cord injury, fracture of hip or leg or other trauma, cancers, heart disease, stroke, obesity, prolonged bed rest and inherited risk factors like gene mutations.

Gout and pseudogout are a group of diseases which are caused by the inflammation and accumulation of crystals in the joints. Gout is caused by accumulation of uric acid crystals, and pseudogout by calcium pyrophosphatecrystals. They are characterized by sudden painful swelling in one or more joints. Gout attacks may be caused by eating foods rich in purines such as seafood, alcohol and red meat, while pseudogout could be due to joint injury, surgery or immune problems.
