Thick, white fluid that comes out of the opening where urine comes out. This is usually a sign of an infection such as a sexually transmitted infection or urinary tract infection.

Generally, Pus in urethra can be related to:

  • Gonorrhea

    Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the N. gonorrhoeae bacteria.

  • Chlamydia Infection

    A sexually transmitted infectious disease. It can cause abnormal vaginal or penile discharge and pain in the pubic area, but most infections have no symptoms. Chlamydia infection can also cause infertility and ectopic pregnancies and can be transmitted to the throat and rectum.

  • Nephrolithiasis (Kidney Stones)

    A condition in which stones form in the kidney and may eventually pass through the ureter (tube connecting the kidney and bladder) to the bladder before exiting the urethra. Small stones may pass on their own, but larger stones may need to be removed by procedures or surgery.
